A Sharper Glass for Mudlet

Mudlet players have been getting a steadily better window into Luminari. The Luminari GUI package moved through its 2.0 series between July 2025 and September 2026, and the current download is 2.0.4.048.

A cleaner cockpit

• Gauges and panels were redrawn, and windows can be moved and resized.
• A Say tab gathers say, shout, holler, whisper, ask, and out-of-character chatter.
• The mapper shows room names instead of bare numbers, and one button switches between the Mudlet and ASCII maps.
• Numpad movement works, icons have tooltips, and spell-like effects appear correctly in the affects display.
• If the layout ever tangles, fix gui resets it.

Sounds, if you want them

Optional alerts can chime for new chat and warn when health or movement runs low. All are off by default. With the GUI installed, the sound command controls these package alerts: sound status shows them, and sound health on turns one on.

Friendlier with new Mudlet

The package now targets Mudlet 4.21 or newer. Mudlet 4.20 moved its protocol settings into a dropdown, so if your gauges go blank after upgrading, check that MSDP is still enabled there. Other fixes stop duplicate updates that caused creeping lag, stop blank lines disappearing from game output, and capture tall ASCII maps in full.

On the game side, client data such as room names and alignment no longer carries color codes, and GMCP clients receive valid data. The game offers the package under one stable file name, avoiding duplicate installs.
