Back to the Artificer’s Bench
Weird science is supposed to be weird. It should not reject a spell your inventor has already earned.
The latest part of the July 27–September 28 catch-up fixes Artificer devices that incorrectly refused third- and fourth-circle spells. A circle is a spell’s power tier: Artificers reach the third at class level 5 and the fourth at level 11, with device capacity still limiting what fits.
Put the invention to work
Device creation, use, and saving received repairs, along with an option to cancel device work. Metamagic wand use now checks the relevant Use Magic Device requirement and charges the proper number of uses. Extra power still has a price.
Crafting rolls now receive the intended Artificer skill bonuses. The class’s starting equipment and premade build were corrected, and its progression grants wood, stone, and iron golem construction at levels 10, 15, and 20.
Bottle a little brilliance
September 28’s brewing fix lets Artificer Item Creation emulate eligible device spells without demanding spell slots the class does not have. Those potions use the Artificer’s level for the emulated magic; normal brewing work and material requirements still apply.
This is a focused repair to the existing Artificer, with new class and device help to explain the rules. The changes are merged into the development history through September 28. Their live deployment was not verified for this roundup.
