Play in Your Browser

An adventurer steps through an open copper-framed portal toward a distant mountain citadel.

The shortest road into Luminari is now a browser tab. Since August 2026, every "Play in browser" button on this site opens the Luminari Web Client. It is built for this game and replaces the third-party client we pointed to before.

What you get

  • Guided account and character screens, with artwork for races including the newest additions, and the familiar terminal always one step away.
  • Side panels for your character, combat, group, affects, inventory, room, map, and quests, filled live from the game's data feed.
  • Command history, tab completion, numpad movement, and your own aliases and triggers, which you can export and import.
  • A mobile layout, plus the option to install it to your home screen on supporting browsers. You still need a connection to play.

Where it came from

The client took shape in May 2026 and went into production in late July, along with the role-play profile screens described in First Steps, Less Fuss. Its source code is public, released under the Unlicense, with the game's own artwork and sound held back.

Prefer a traditional client? Mudlet and anything that speaks telnet still connect to luminarimud.com on port 4100, and the play page covers both. The web client is live today.
